Our Ministries

Our philosophy here at First Baptist Church is to use our ministry to build our people rather than using our people to build our ministry. We believe that it is our duty not only to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, but to provide ministries that will help today’s families become the most successful and experience the greatest level of joy possible.

Soul Winning:

Our local church-wide soul winning ministry meets at 11:00am on Saturday morning to go out  and spread the gospel to a lost and dying world. Spreading the gospel by passing out tracts, preaching the gospel to others, and sharing our testimony with others is the first step in the process of someone being born again and receiving salvation. In addition to the local outreach, First Baptist Church is a world-wide  missions-oriented church supporting 26 missionaries around the globe.

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Ti 2:4)

The Bus Ministry:

The bus ministry meets each Saturday morning at 11:00am at the church for a bus meeting and visitation. On Sunday morning the buses go into the neighborhoods and pick up boys and girls and moms and dads and bring them to Sunday School and Church. Hundreds and hundreds of young people along with their parents hear the gospel of Jesus Christ each year because of the bus ministry. It is by far the most productive tool in the New Testament church for reaching the lost for Christ.

All kids 5 years of age or older may ride the bus without a parent or guardian. Children 4 years of age and under are required to have a parent or guardian present with them on the bus. We provide nuseries for parents with infants. For more information about the bus routes or to request a pick up, please email us

Sunday School:

The Sunday School Department is divided by grades starting from K4 on through 12th. For those out of high school, we have a College & Careers class for young adults, a Married Couples class, and the Pastor’s Adult Sunday School Class.

The K4 – 12th grade Sunday School classes are split into two groups. One group is for children raised in Christian homes, and the other group is for children that are from non-Christian homes. This ensures that every child’s needs are met regardless of their background.

“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” (Prov. 9:9)

Junior Church:

Our Junior Church ministry is designed for children who are not knowledgeable of the Scriptures. The Teen Church ministry teaches teens about salvation and prepares them for attending the adult church services. These ministries teach the basics of the Bible, especially how to become a Christian and what to do after becoming a Christian.

This ministry meets at 11:00am on Sunday morning, during the adult church services.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Prov. 22:6)

The Preaching Services:

We believe that the preaching of the Word of God is the method that God uses to win the lost and keep the Christian fit for use. The Bible says that “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God”. Therefore, here at First Baptist Church, the preaching of the Word of God is the most important part of the services. We believe that God uses it to nourish the believer and convict the non-believer.

“For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” (1Co 1:21)

The Music Ministry:

The music ministry at First Baptist Church is dedicated to the glory of God. We sing the old proven hymns of the faith. Hymns that exalt God and speak of His majesty, hymns that lead the listener to rely upon the Lord and His wisdom and might. Our choir sing songs that prepare the heart of the listener to receive the Word of God when the preaching time comes. The music at First Baptist Church helps the listener to never forget that the Christian’s purpose on earth is to be a witness of our Lord Jesus Christ. We do not permit so-called “Christian” rock music, or “Christian” contemporary, or any other worldly music to be played or sung in our services.

In addition to our church choir which sings during each Sunday morning and evening service, we have special music including a children’s choir, offeratory instrumentals, men’s groups, ladies groups, mixed groups, and soloists. The choir meets every Sunday evening at 4:40pm for practice.

“Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” (Ps. 100:2)

Women’s Missionary Society:

The Women’s Missionary Society meets once a month. In this ministry, the ladies of the church do special projects for our missionaries and raise money for any special needs our missionaries might have. These ladies also take on local church projects and provide dinners for church members that are ill or have had a death in the family.

Youth Group:

Our Youth Group meets once a week during the summer and once a month during the school year for an activity and devotions. Past activities have included trips to cedar point, bike riding, summer camp, attending baseball games, paintballing, and youth conferences.

The youth group meets for soul winning on Wednesdays at 3:30pm and then go out witnessing to other teenagers in our city.

Blue Denim & Lace:

The Blue Denim & Lace Club is a ministry for the young girls of our church. This ministry meets at 3:30pm on Wednesdays. In this club the girls memorize Scripture verses, learn to cook, sew, and many other things that she will need to know when she becomes a wife and mother.

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” (Pr 31:28)

College & Career Fellowship :

The College & Career Fellowship provides young, single adults good, clean monthly activities in which they can fellowship with one another.

Young Couples Fellowship :

The Young Couples Fellowship provides young, married couples with a good, clean monthly activity in which they can fellowship with other couples.

Young At Heart:

The Young At Heart ministry is designed for those fifty years of age and over. In this ministry our senior saints visit other seniors sharing with them the gospel. This group is very active, they have an activity each month with many different adventures including: tours and trips, shopping sprees, progressive dinners, or just coffee, pie and good fellowship. Our senior saints look out for each other. They are a family within our church family.

“The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” (Pr 16:31)
