Fall Youth Rally 2010 – Staying on Target

The First Baptist Teen Department is hosting a Youth Rally on Saturday, October 16 here at the church. Our special speaker will be Bro. Randy Taylor, Jr. from Mt. Salem Revival Grounds in West Union, West Virginia.

We have an exciting rally planned complete with skits, competitions, special music, and great preaching. After the service, all teens are invited to a pizza party followed by two hours of roller skating at a nearby rink. Best of all, there is no charge for any of these activities!

The Youth Rally schedule is as follows:
1:00 – 1:30pm – registration
1:30 – 3:00pm – preaching service
3:00 – 4:00pm – pizza party
4:00 – 4:30pm – travel to skating rink
4:30 – 6:30pm – roller skating

Chick-fil-A Fundraiser

Our Teen Department is hosting a fundraiser at the Chick-fil-A in Chapel Hill on Monday, September 13 from 5:00 – 8:00pm.

$1.00 buys you a spin on the wheel and guarantees you a coupon for free food on a future visit.
If we beat their average sales while we’re there, Chick-fil-A will also donate 10% of their profit from that time to us. The more they make – the more we make!

Grandparent’s Sunday

We are celebrating Grandparent’s Sunday on September 12! All grandparents in attendance during the morning service will receive a special gift from Preacher and Mrs. Fox along with a free 8″ x 10″ family portrait. Pictures will be taken in the gymnasium immediately following the service. We hope to see you there!

College & Career Activity

All College & Career young adults are invited to Dan and Melissa Conley’s home for an evening of fun, food, and games. The activity takes place on Saturday, September 11 from 5:00 – 8:00pm. Please see Dan or Melissa if you have any questions or need directions.

Entertainment Books for Sale

The Young at Heart Senior Saints are selling 2011 Entertainment Books. Each book sells for $30.00 and contains over $19,000 in coupon savings. Please see Bro. Roy Conley to purchase your book or if you have any questions. All proceeds benefit the Young at Heart Ministry.

Change of Schedule for Bus Meeting

Beginning on Saturday, August 28, bus meetings will again be held on Saturday mornings at 11:00. There will be no more meetings on Wednesday evening after the service.

Brownie Sundae Social

The teens will be sponsoring a Brownie Sundae Social after the evening service this Sunday, August 29 out in the gym. All proceeds will benefit the FBC Teen Department. Plan on coming out and enjoying the food and fellowship!

Young at Heart Activity

All Senior Saints age 50 and older are invited to come out for a great afternoon of food and fellowship this Thursday, August 19. Meet at the Ryan’s Steakhouse on Arlington Road at 1:30pm. Please call Bro. Roy Conley if you have any questions.

Boy’s Basketball & Girl’s Volleyball League

All church kids going into the 6th through 12th grades this fall are encouraged to come out and play! There is a sign-up sheet in the church if you are interested in playing. Please see Dave or Jill Conley if you have any questions.

Men’s Golf Tournament

On Saturday, August 28 we will be hosting a Golf Tournament with Northwest Baptist Church of Toledo. The tournament will take place at the Rolling Acres Golf Club, 63 SR 511 in Nova, Ohio. There will be a meeting with Preacher after the Sunday morning service on August 8 for all men interested in playing.
